Bernard Villemot
Bernard Villemot was a French graphic artist known for innovative advertising campaigns for companies like Orangina, Perrier, Bally and Air France. Villemot's focus on simple, elegant forms, sophisticated colors and design made him one of the preeminent poster artists of the 60s and 70s. His work maintained a compositional simplicity combined with vibrant colors that brought impressionistic art into the advertising world. His work was displayed in both French magazines and street advertisements. Born on September 20, 1911 in Trouville-sur-Mer, France, he studied under Paul Colin in Paris. In 1963 he was the subject of a solo exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris. The artist died in 1989 in France.
