This delightful collection of pewter floral sculptures was inspired by the oldest literary society in Europe, Jeux Floraux, founded in France in 1323. Winners of the academy's poetry competition were awarded a gold or silver flower: a violet, wild rose, marigold, amaranth or lily. RaR translated five images by graphic designer Frits Kredel into three-dimensional work. The poppy, cornflower, Solomon's seal, March violet and coltsfoot are transformed into elongated and flat shapes that seem to defy the rules of gravity. The front and back are accurately detailed, as if they came from an herbarium. Each flower has different sizes and stands on a pedestal, referring to former tin soldiers. These magical objects are combination of history, nature and art. Sold as a set of 5 or individually by the stem. Garden of Five is a 2 - 3 week lead time.
Produced in the Netherlands by renowned tin foundry, De Tingieterij.
