Christien Meindertsma's Pigeon Service for Thomas Eyck was inspired by a permanent installation of linen pigeons for Texture, the museum of flax in Kortrijk, Belgium. The installation is based on the homing pigeons used for espionage during the First World War, some of which were captured and held in the building that is now the museum. The pigeons are filled with flax seed and covered in various colors of Kvadrat Canvas. Each pigeon comes with a small, rolled up note attached to the tail providing a unique way to send a secret message. Guaranteed to bring joy and peace to you or your receiver's home. Available in various colors.
Handmade in the Netherlands.
